Seaway International Bridge - St Lawrence River

An Environmental Assessment was undertaken to assess the possible solutions to replace the aging, multi-span, steel bridge crossing of the North Channel of the St. Lawrence Seaway in Cornwall, ON.

Houle Chevrier Engineering Ltd. was retained to review available subsurface information for the existing bridge crossing and to carry out a preliminary borehole investigation. This information was used to provide foundation design recommendations for the abutments, piers, and approach embankments.
